We value accuracy, professionalism, client service, and long term relationships. We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with either a CPA or EA credential to join our team.
Position Overview
The Experienced Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns, assisting with accounting and advisory engagements, communicating with clients, and supporting year-round tax planning and compliance work. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple client relationships, work independently, and contribute to a collaborative firm environment.
A strong desire to help small business owners pay the least amount of tax legally possible is a MUST.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, S corporation, fiduciary and nonprofit tax returns
- Provide tax planning and advisory support for individuals and businesses
- Review client bookkeeping and financial records for accuracy
- Assist with payroll, sales tax, and other business compliance matters as needed
- Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters, documentation, deadlines, and planning opportunities
- Research federal and state tax issues and apply guidance to client situations
- Support IRS and state tax notice responses and client correspondence
- Maintain strong organization and accuracy during peak filing seasons
- Work collaboratively with firm leadership and staff to deliver excellent client service
- Meeting with clients to discuss tax strategies, compliance and client concerns
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Active CPA or Enrolled Agent license required
- Strong knowledge of individual and business taxation
- Experience preparing Forms 1040, 1120-S, 1065, 1120, 1041, 990 and related schedules preferred
- Must have experience with Trusts and Non-Profits
- Ability to review financial statements, general ledgers, and bookkeeping records
- Comfortable with reviewing and signing returns. Must be satisfied with the best client results possible, not just the math.
- Understanding of entity types and applicable taxation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Must be able to problem solve
- Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and Online is required
- Strong aptitude for technology
- Passion for building relationships with people, understanding their business, family and life.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements
