Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of toddlers
- Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, early intervention strategies, and basic math concepts tailored to toddler needs
- Manage classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones
- Apply behavior management techniques to support positive social interactions and emotional regulation among children
- Conduct child development assessments to monitor growth and identify any special education needs or early intervention opportunities
- Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure child welfare and safety at all times
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, attendance, and developmental observations
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom management strategies, and best practices in preschool teaching
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a childcare or preschool setting, especially with toddlers
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques
- Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention programs, and behavior management strategies
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in childhood education or preschool teaching are preferred
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare is essential
- Ability to create a nurturing environment that promotes physical activity, literacy skills, and social-emotional learning
- Experience teaching physical education or incorporating movement into daily routines is a plus
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and abilities
