Overview
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, helping them lead fulfilling lives while promoting their independence. You will work closely with clients in various settings, including home and community environments, ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect.
Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation and personal hygiene.
- Implementing care plans tailored to each individual's needs and preferences.
- Supporting individuals with disabilities, including those with autism and dementia, in achieving their personal goals.
- Administering medication as prescribed and monitoring health conditions.
- Providing companionship and engaging clients in social activities to enhance their quality of life.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintaining accurate records of client progress and any changes in behavior or health status.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience (3 years +) in the developmental disabilities or related field.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have disabilities or special needs.
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Experience in meal preparation that meets dietary requirements for various health conditions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
