American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a 13-week assignment requiring an active CA RN license and at least 1 year of emergency department experience.

Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital environment
-
General ED serving combined adult and pediatric patients
-
Facility is STEMI certified and Stroke certified
-
Approximately 135 visits per day with 20-26 rooms/beds and an average daily census of 105
-
Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
-
Weekend requirement of 3 out of every 6 weekends
-
Floating required to the Observation Unit which houses ER hold patients
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
ending License not accepted, active CA RN license required at time of submission

Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department experience required

Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
-
ENPC certification preferred
-
Community hospital experience preferred
-
Experience with 1:4 patient ratios
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Skilled in emergency care across pediatrics, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and trauma presentations
-
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
-
Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
-
range of patient conditions including abdominal pain, asthma, seizures, sickle cell crisis, and infection
-
Manage psychiatric presentations including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, and violent behavior
-
Administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and assist with procedural sedation
-
Provide care for trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
-
Own scrubs permitted, no prints allowed

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rate, though local candidates are accepted at a lower bill rate
-
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not currently reside within 50 miles of the facility

Commitment to work 3 of the 5 major holidays required (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days

Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
