Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated VPK Lead Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. As a VPK Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curricula that promote early childhood education, literacy, and social-emotional growth. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori and other pedagogical approaches.
- Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and sensory activities tailored to preschool-aged children.
- Manage daily classroom activities to foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social skills.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to support children’s emotional regulation and promote respectful interactions among students.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor developmental progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with families, specialists in special education, and early intervention providers to support each child's unique needs.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and developmental milestones while ensuring compliance with childcare regulations.
- Lead classroom activities that promote child welfare, safety, and well-being while adhering to best practices in childcare and daycare settings.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare environments with a strong understanding of childhood development principles.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
- Knowledge of special education strategies, early intervention programs, and behavior management approaches.
- Prior experience with Montessori methods or other early childhood educational frameworks is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to implement literacy education strategies and support language development in young learners.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures, tutoring techniques, and teaching physical education activities.
- Childcare certification or relevant credentials required; prior private school or preschool experience is preferred.
