Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a positive first impression of the restaurant
- Manage restaurant wait times and phone in orders
- Coordinate seating arrangements and manage waitlists to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction
- Answer incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, assisting inquiries
- Maintain clear communication with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow
- Uphold food safety standards and ensure cleanliness in the host/hostess area
- Assist guests with special requests and provide exceptional guest relations throughout their visit
Experience
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a customer-focused attitude are essential
- Familiarity with restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, including phone communication and guest interaction
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, seating calculations, and POS transactions
- Knowledge of hospitality principles, guest services, and food safety standards is a plus
- Experience with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS will help streamline operations
