Part-Time Assistant Teacher (Multiple Openings)
Children's Harbor Montessori School – Staten Island, NY
Children's Harbor Montessori School, a small, private, not-for-profit Montessori preschool, is seeking warm, dependable, and nurturing Assistant Teachers to join our dedicated team for the 2026–2027 school year.
We currently have multiple part-time positions available:
- Assistant Teacher: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Assistant Teacher / Afterschool Teacher: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in maintaining a peaceful and engaging Montessori classroom.
- Support children's independence, social-emotional development, and daily routines.
- Prepare classroom materials and maintain a clean, organized environment.
- Supervise children during classroom, playground, and transition times.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to provide a safe, positive learning environment.
- The 12:00 PM–6:00 PM position also includes supervising our afternoon afterschool program.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Experience working with young children is a plus
- Dependable, punctual, and responsible
- Warm, patient, and caring
- Willingness to support the Montessori philosophy
- Must be able to complete all required background clearances and health requirements before employment
