Job Summary
Environmental International Corporation is seeking an Environmental Project Engineer/Geologist with at least five years of relevant professional experience in environmental consulting, site assessment, soil and groundwater investigation, remediation, and multimedia environmental compliance.
The successful candidate will support and manage projects involving contaminated site assessment, groundwater and soil remediation, regulatory compliance, technical reporting, and client/regulatory communication. Experience with Georgia HSRA, RCRA, groundwater monitoring, soil assessment, corrective action, and other remediation programs is strongly preferred. Experience with multimedia compliance, including air compliance, stormwater, SPCC, hazardous waste, EPCRA/Tier II/TRI, or environmental audits, is also valuable.
Duties:
- Manage and support environmental site assessment, investigation, monitoring, and remediation projects.
- Prepare technical reports, work plans, sampling plans, corrective action plans, monitoring reports, and regulatory correspondence.
- Evaluate soil, groundwater, vapor, and other environmental analytical data.
- Support projects involving HSRA, RCRA, petroleum releases, brownfields, voluntary cleanup, or other state and federal remediation programs.
- Develop and refine conceptual site models based on field observations, analytical data, hydrogeologic conditions, and historical site information.
- Assist with contaminant delineation, fate and transport evaluations, remedial strategy development, and corrective action planning.
- Coordinate and conduct field activities, including soil sampling, groundwater sampling, well gauging, drilling oversight, remediation system inspections, and subcontractor coordination.
- Support multimedia environmental compliance projects, including air compliance, stormwater, SPCC, RCRA hazardous waste, EPCRA/Tier II/TRI, and related regulatory programs.
- Communicate with clients, regulators, subcontractors, laboratories, and internal project teams.
- Assist with proposal preparation, scope development, cost estimating, project budgeting, and scheduling.
- Review laboratory analytical data, field forms, figures, tables, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain strong project documentation and support quality control for client deliverables.
Preferred Skills:
- Professional Engineer, Engineer-in-Training, Professional Geologist, or Geologist-in-Training certification.
- Experience with Georgia EPD programs, including HSRA, VRP, risk reduction standards, groundwater monitoring, corrective action, and regulatory reporting.
- Experience with RCRA corrective action, hazardous waste compliance, generator evaluations, or waste characterization.
- Experience with air permitting, air compliance, emissions calculations, stormwater compliance, SPCC planning, Tier II/TRI reporting, or multimedia environmental audits.
- Experience with petroleum, chlorinated solvent, metals, SVOC/PAH, LNAPL, or DNAPL sites.
- Experience preparing proposals, project budgets, client correspondence, and regulatory response documents.
- Familiarity with GIS, AutoCAD, Microsoft Access, Excel, or environmental data management tools.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain certification.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental engineering, civil engineering, geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or a closely related discipline.
- Degree must be completed prior to employment.
- Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in environmental consulting, site assessment, remediation, groundwater/soil investigation, or regulatory compliance.
- Experience with soil and groundwater assessment, groundwater monitoring, analytical data evaluation, and technical report preparation.
- Working knowledge of HSRA, RCRA, state cleanup programs, petroleum release programs, voluntary cleanup programs, or other environmental remediation frameworks.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, maintain schedules, and support project budgets.
- Ability to conduct fieldwork at industrial, commercial, and environmental project sites.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across engineering disciplines such as civil, mechanical, hydraulic systems, and system design projects. Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
