New Leaf Therapy SD is growing—and you're invited to be part of the beginning.
We're looking for an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) to join a newly launched, remote-only group practice based in California.
What makes us different? We don't subscribe to the traditional "clients come first, therapists push through" model that leads to burnout. We believe clinicians thrive when their work is sustainable, when they're trusted to be human, and when supervision is more than just a checkbox—it's actually supportive. You'll have flexibility, guidance, and space to grow in a way that fits your lifestyle and values.
A note on caseload: We're a new practice, so you'll be building your caseload from the ground up alongside us—this isn't a role with an existing book of clients or a backlog of referrals waiting for you. We'll support your growth with a Psychology Today listing and marketing efforts, but ramp-up takes time, and early weeks/months will likely mean a lighter caseload while referrals come in organically.
What You'll Do
- Provide virtual therapy to individuals (with optional work with couples, teens, etc.)
- Complete intakes and collaboratively create treatment plans
- Maintain timely documentation in our user-friendly EHR system
- Attend weekly 1:1 supervision that is clinical, affirming, and growth-oriented
- Help build your own caseload with our support—we provide a Psychology Today listing and marketing support, though referrals are not stockpiled or guaranteed and will grow gradually as the practice does
- Show up authentically—we're not about performative professionalism
What We're Looking For
- You're a registered AMFT in good standing with the BBS (California only)
- You're comfortable starting with a smaller caseload that builds over time, with a goal of reaching 6+ sessions/week as referrals grow
- You value equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive care
- You're excited to help shape a new kind of private practice from the ground up
- You have a private, secure space to provide telehealth
- This posting is for Masters level clinicians
Bonus Points (but not required)
- Experience working with LGBTQIA+ clients, trauma, or relational work
- Prior telehealth experience
- Comfort with autonomy and virtual communication
Why Join New Leaf Therapy SD?
- Weekly clinical supervision that actually supports your development
- Flexible, remote-only schedule (work from anywhere in CA)
- Psychology Today profile and marketing support as we grow together
- A practice built on balance—not burnout
- Opportunity to grow with the practice as it evolves, including as caseload builds
