Position: Materials Coordinator

Pay: $30-35/hour based on experience and qualifications
Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm, with possible additional hours or days as project requires.
Summary
The Materials Coordinator is responsible for overseeing inventory management, warehouse operations, material allocation, and logistics coordination. This role ensures materials are received, verified, stored, tracked, distributed, and returned efficiently to support field operations and project needs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to maintain adequate inventory levels and meet operational demands.

Responsibilities
- Leverage inventory management technology to track, monitor, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Manage daily materials inventory, including receiving, stocking, allocation, and distribution.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics for warehouse operations.
- Receive and inspect incoming materials to verify accuracy, quality standards, and purchase order requirements.
- Verify billed materials against received inventory and supporting documentation.
- Track Material Transfer Requests (MTRs) and maintain accurate records of material movement.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels for frequently used materials and supplies.
- Store materials in designated warehouse locations while ensuring organization and accessibility.
- Prepare and stage job materials for field crews and project requirements.
- Prepare, package, and coordinate materials for shipment.
- Deliver parts and materials to field crews as needed.
- Manage the return, inspection, and restocking of unused materials.
- Work closely with managers and field personnel to ensure timely material availability.
- Coordinate with suppliers and end clients regarding deliveries, inventory needs, and material availability.
- Communicate proactively with leadership on inventory status, operational requirements, shortages, and upcoming needs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and warehouse technology systems.
- Strong understanding of receiving, stocking, allocation, shipping, and inventory control processes.
- Ability to accurately track inventory transactions and material transfers.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to verify materials and documentation accurately.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with leadership, suppliers, clients, and field personnel.
- Ability to lift and move materials and perform physical warehouse duties.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
- Forklift Certification preferred.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
Performance Metrics
- Maintain inventory accuracy through inventory tracking, audits, and material reconciliation.
- Ensure adequate availability of critical and regularly used inventory items.
- Fulfill material requests for field operations in a timely manner.
- Process and accurately record all incoming materials within established timelines.
- Maintain accuracy in receiving, material verification, and inventory documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Material Transfer Request (MTR) tracking and reporting requirements.
- Complete and submit monthly inventory reports accurately and on time.
- Manage the ordering, replenishment, and return of materials to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
- Coordinate timely delivery of materials to field crews and job sites.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment while adhering to company safety standards.
Work Environment
- The work environment will include a combination of desk/computer work, checking and moving materials in the shop/yard, and visiting worksites outdoors
- Workers will be required to use appropriate personal protective equipment, which may include respirators, fall protection, safety glasses, hi-vis clothing, hard hat, etc., as conditions, tasks, and requirements warrant
- Work situations may include being in the presence of “rotating equipment” and energized equipment. As such, workers must be cognizant of ensuring that the equipment is “Locked Out” before working within machine guards or in proximity to energized components
- Work situations include working on / near live utility lines such as natural gas, water, and electric lines
- Workers may work on and near heavy excavation equipment, vehicles, and trailers
- Work is regularly outside year-round and exposure to natural elements such as heat, cold, wind, and sun is to be expected
Physical Requirements
- The essential functions of this position consist of spending long periods of time in the physical activities of standing, walking, climbing, lifting, carrying, twisting, kneeling, stooping, bending and crouching as required. This position also involves handling equipment ranging in weight from 1-100 lbs.
- Work may be performed in adverse environmental conditions such as confined spaces, high and low temperature environments, adverse weather conditions, etc.

- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
