General Line Mechanic (Full-Time)
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week

Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and experienced General Line Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers, tractors, earth-moving equipment, firewood processing equipment, and other commercial machinery.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently while also collaborating effectively with other technicians to ensure our equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational.
Due to the nature of our business, candidates must be flexible and willing to assist during periods of high demand, including snow and weather-related emergencies when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on a variety of equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on trucks, trailers, tractors, and heavy equipment.
- Inspect equipment to identify potential issues before failures occur.
- Troubleshoot and repair gasoline and diesel-powered equipment.
- Repair and replace hydraulic hoses, pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, and related components.
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filters, belts, brakes, steering, suspension, cooling systems, and driveline components.
- Diagnose and repair basic 12-volt electrical systems, including auxiliary equipment.
- Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on automotive and equipment air conditioning systems.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant shop that meets safety standards.
- Work efficiently to minimize equipment downtime and maintain smooth operations.
- Assist fellow technicians and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Communicate equipment needs and repair recommendations to management.
Qualifications
- Experience as a General Line Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic preferred.
- Familiarity with Ford Super Duty trucks is strongly preferred.
- Experience servicing tractors, skid steers, loaders, excavators, and other earth-moving equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of firewood processing equipment is a plus.
- Ability to diagnose common mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems independently.
- Working knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.
- Basic knowledge of automotive and equipment air-conditioning systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting 12-volt electrical systems.
- Experience repairing hydraulic systems, hoses, pumps, motors, and fittings.
- Ability to safely operate shop equipment and power tools.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair documentation.
- Valid driver's license required (CDL is a plus).

- Ability to respond during seasonal weather events or snow emergencies when business demands require additional support.
