Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Nurse (Cardiac Telemetry) to join our dedicated healthcare team. Duties
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry data, promptly identifying arrhythmias or other critical changes in patient status.
- Administer medications, including IV infusions and botulinum toxin treatments, following precise protocols and safety guidelines.
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and assessments, documenting findings accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic.
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists in cardiology, emergency medicine, and critical care to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Assist with invasive procedures such as cardiac catheterization, suturing, or tube feeding when necessary, maintaining aseptic technique throughout.
- Provide patient education on cardiac health, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and post-discharge care plans.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain meticulous medical documentation for legal and quality assurance purposes.
Experience
- Proven experience working with telemetry units in hospital medicine or critical care settings, preferably within a Level I or Level II trauma center.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Epic for documentation and order entry.
- Experience administering complex medications including botulinum toxin treatments and managing acute pain or infectious disease cases.
- Skilled in performing physical assessments, venipuncture (phlebotomy), IV insertion, catheter care, and sterile processing techniques.
- Background working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal resuscitation procedures, and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation tools like ICD coding (ICD-9/10), laboratory testing procedures, and medical imaging interpretation.
- Knowledge of trauma medicine protocols, ICU procedures, emergency response procedures, and hospice & palliative medicine practices is highly desirable.
