We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-driven Project Manager to plan, coordinate, implement, and successfully close commercial audiovisual integration projects according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing commercial AV projects from internal handoff through installation, client training, and project closeout. This role serves as the central point of coordination between internal departments, clients, vendors, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure projects are executed professionally, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards.
The ideal candidate has experience in commercial AV integration or a related technical construction environment and can effectively manage project documentation, schedules, communication, and field coordination while keeping projects on track and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of assigned commercial AV integration projects from project handoff through completion and service turnover
- Review project documents including drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, submittals, and construction schedules
- Acquire a thorough understanding of project requirements, deliverables, site conditions, and client expectations
- Create, manage, and update project plans, milestones, and schedules
- Coordinate with sales, engineering, purchasing, warehouse, programming, installation, subcontractors, and service teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external project communication and documentation
- Lead and document project meetings with internal teams, clients, general contractors, consultants, and other trades as required
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, delays, technical conflicts, and scope changes
- Help resolve project-related issues by engaging the appropriate internal teams or subject matter experts
- Coordinate material readiness, labor planning, subcontractor scheduling, and field execution
- Track job progress against scope, budget, schedule, and company expectations
- Ensure all project documentation is organized, current, and properly communicated to relevant stakeholders
- Support change management by identifying scope changes, documenting impacts, and coordinating next steps internally
- Travel to job sites as needed to review progress, support the field team, and maintain alignment with project requirements
- Coordinate project completion, client training, punch list resolution, final documentation, and turnover to the service department
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience in commercial AV integration, low-voltage systems, construction coordination, or related technical project environments
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents including electronic schematics, AV drawings, architectural blueprints, punch lists, schedules, and scopes of work
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors
- Ability to troubleshoot project issues, identify roadblocks, and engage the right people to keep projects moving
- Effective time management and strong attention to detail
- Willingness to travel to various job sites as required
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the commercial AV integration industry
- Understanding of AV system functionality, installation processes, and project sequencing
- Familiarity with conferencing systems, control systems, professional audio, displays, video distribution, and integrated AV solutions
- Experience coordinating technical trades, field labor, and subcontractors
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with multiple active projects
