Pet Groomer – Full-Time (Set Schedule) – Bellawood Kennels (Newark, DE)
Bellawood Kennels, a growing boarding, grooming, and training facility in Newark, Delaware, is seeking an experienced Pet Groomer to join our team. Responsibilities:
- Perform full-service grooming including baths, brushing, haircuts, nail trims, and more for dogs of all breeds and sizes
- Handle client check-in and check-out, discussing styles, needs, and recommendations professionally
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized grooming environment at all times
- Manage 6–10+ dogs per day across scheduled slots (typically 8am, 11am, 2pm; evenings include a 5pm slot)
- Confidently and patiently work with dogs of various temperaments, including nervous or reactive dogs
- Communicate any health or behavioral concerns to clients and team members
- Support the broader team as needed in our boarding and training facility
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and facility protocols
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of professional grooming experience (2+ years strongly preferred) — you must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to handle full-service grooming for a variety of breeds and coat types
- Strong customer service skills and comfort interacting directly with clients
- Reliable, detail-oriented, with a positive attitude and true team-player mindset
- Ability to work on your feet for 6–8+ hours per day and handle dogs of varying sizes
- Must be available Sundays and Mondays plus one evening shift (M–F)
We are a drama-free workplace. We work closely across all departments and need someone who collaborates well and contributes to a respectful, supportive culture.
Schedule:
Full-time (35–45 hours/week). Core grooming slots are 8am, 11am, and 2pm, with occasional evening shifts ending around 5pm drop-offs. You must complete all scheduled grooms and required cleaning each day.
