Duties
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and prep work under supervision
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers and manual cleaning tools
- Follow all sanitation standards and health regulations to uphold kitchen hygiene and safety protocols
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of large pots or crates with proper technique to prevent injury
- Contribute to overall kitchen cleanliness by maintaining organized storage areas for clean and dirty items
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is key!
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures is highly desirable
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as commercial dishwashers is a plus
- Strong understanding of kitchen health and safety standards, including proper food handling techniques
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting busy restaurant operations
- Previous banquet or catering experience is advantageous but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential!
