Position Summary:
DOTCOM is seeking an experienced QC Technician (Aerial) to inspect and verify the quality of aerial telecommunications construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring all coax and fiber installations meet DOTCOM and Charter Communications standards for safety, workmanship, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform quality control inspections on aerial fiber and coax installations
- Inspect strand placement, lashing, pole transfers, bonding, grounding, and hardware installation
- Verify compliance with construction prints, specifications, and client requirements
- Identify deficiencies, document findings, and communicate corrective actions to crews and supervisors
- Conduct post-construction audits and ensure punch list items are completed
- Take clear photos and maintain detailed daily inspection reports
- Review as-built documentation for accuracy
- Monitor job site safety practices and report unsafe conditions
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and field crews to maintain quality standards
Qualifications:
- 2 or more years of aerial telecommunications construction experience required
- Strong knowledge of aerial coax and fiber construction methods
- Ability to read and interpret construction prints and utility maps
- Familiarity with strand, lashers, pole attachments, grounding, and bonding standards
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and travel to various job sites
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work at heights and outdoors in varying weather conditions
