Primary Job Function:
Take the lead on projects and concerns that are considered top priority for the department. Service and support manufacturing goals and objectives. Implement Tool & Die Department processes and procedures to yield results that “delight” our customers (internal and external). Accomplish any and all work assignments as directed by management.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Work alongside and help with training of Tool & Die Skilled Trades Technicians.
- Set a good example by following policies and procedures as well as provide feedback to Management for related concerns.
- Coordinate with Department Management Staff status/activities associated with ECN’s, Project Launches and assigned die repair/modifications.
- Instill good communications between shifts and departments for Tool & Die activities.
- Assist and advise in new/off-load die tryout projects through buy-off.
- Attend meetings for Tool & Die Department activities (internal and interdepartmentally).
- Assist in preparing action plans for major die repair activities.
- Respond with maintenance activities to die-related production concerns.
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
- Interface with Department Management for workplace improvement planning.
- High School Diploma.
- 3-5 years of experience in Tool & Die activities with demonstrated Leadership abilities.
- Tool & Die Skills - as outlined in the Skills Assessment for Die Finishers.
- Organizational and communications skills.
- Excellent work performance history.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Ability to plan, activate and resolve new tooling construction, as well as production, new tooling try-out and trouble-shooting concerns.

Health, Safety and Physical Demand Requirements:
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs
- Occasional lifting, climbing, carrying, pulling, griping, grasping, twisting, bending, stooping and reaching throughout the work day
- Hand and eye coordination
- Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours or more
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Passport.
- Travel within the US up to 10%, usually travel is throughout SE Michigan.
- International travel up to 5%.
