POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for overseeing the Finance department.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent finance experience and at least seven years relevant finance experience
- Strong general knowledge of accounting principles
- Flexibility to manage various business and finance responsibilities
- Strong communication skills, oral and written
- Computer proficiency: Advanced in QuickBooks and Excel. Proficient in Word and Outlook
- Prior management experience
- Must be a CPA
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Oversee the business department and employees.
- Create and update business and finance policies.
- Ensure all components of the business department with clients, donors, volunteers, and vendors are handled with excellence and meet standards and policies.
- Manage day to day general business affairs, to include but not be limited to coordination of the administrative offices, functions and other support staff, as well as interaction with vendors, suppliers, service providers, regulatory agencies, donors, and volunteers.
- General accounting: reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis, prepare board budget reports, review invoices, review and record investment accounts, process payroll and prepare and enter journal entries.
- Prepare for and execute financial audit.
- Create annual budgets and projections.
- Create and review all donor tax letters.
- Responsible for tax and audit compliance.
- Required to attend and manage the business department at all core fundraising events.
