Sous Chef

The chief job of a Sous Chef at Walters is to support the Executive Chef and to act as the Executive Chef in their absence. We are actively seeking experienced candidates with a strong work ethic. This person can adapt and learn quickly. Sous Chefs should be a resident expert in kitchen operations. Sous Chefs communicate clearly and provide necessary direction to a team. Our chefs take pride in their work but can handle criticism.
What You’ll Do:
- Gets the right food to the right place at the right time

Completes food preparation and cooks according to recipes

Plates and presents food to meet standards

Transports food and equipment to venues for events

Oversees the kitchen food service during events

Maintains proper sanitation and cleanliness at all times
Qualifications:

Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent, culinary degree preferred

Required Experience: 1-2 years of successful culinary experience

Certifications: Serve Safe Food Handlers

Physical Requirements: Able to lift 30 lbs frequently, stand/walk 8-12 hours

Job Overview and Requirements

Compensation & Schedule:

Full-Time: Weekends and Evenings when events take place

Must be available and willing to work weekends, holidays, and late nights
