Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to customers, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role requires strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual abilities and experience with retail sales are a must.
Duties
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their inquiries both in person and over the phone
- Handle cash, credit card, and other payment methods accurately and securely
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
- Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits
- Assist with inventory management including stock replenishment and inventory counts
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns promptly and professionally
- Support in maintaining a clean and organized checkout area
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and sales reporting
- Experience supervising or leading a team is advantageous
- Bilingual skills to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product placement strategies
- Customer service orientation with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to upsell products tactfully to maximize sales opportunities
- Familiarity with grocery store operations or retail sales environments is preferred
- Basic math skills necessary for daily cash register operations and sales calculations

Pay: $15.00 - $17.50 per hour
