Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Pipe Supervisor to lead and oversee pipe installation projects within the construction industry. This role involves managing teams of skilled tradespeople, coordinating construction activities, and ensuring that all work complies with safety regulations, project specifications, and quality standards. The Pipe Supervisor will play a pivotal role in maintaining project schedules, managing resources, and fostering a collaborative work environment to deliver successful project outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, and a comprehensive understanding of piping systems, schematics, and construction management software.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of pipefitters, welders, and other trades personnel, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality workmanship.
- Coordinate daily tasks and schedules to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Inspect work for compliance with engineering designs, specifications, and industry standards (ASME, API, etc.).
- Enforce strict adherence to OSHA guidelines and Preferred Energy Ltd's internal safety protocols to maintain a safe worksite.
- Manage material requisitions, oversee inventory control, and ensure proper usage of tools and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and provide technical guidance on complex piping and welding issues.
- Maintain accurate records of progress, personnel attendance, material usage, and completed work.
- Work closely with other supervisors, engineers, and contractors to ensure the smooth integration of piping systems into the overall project.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members on best practices, safety standards, and new piping and welding technologies.
- Proactively address and resolve project challenges, such as delays, budget constraints, and technical issues.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in pipefitting, welding, or similar trade, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial piping systems, including installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, ASME B31.3, API 570, welding certifications) are highly desirable.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and industry standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
