Job Description

40 HOURS A WEEK - 1ST SHIFT - 7AM-3PM
General Function and Primary Objective(s):
- Support daily customer shipping schedule for deliveries.
- Works with employees/supervision to satisfy demand and maintain Lean objectives.
- Ensure productivity objectives are satisfied.
Primary duties:
The following includes but is not limited to the duties and responsibilities; other tasks may be assigned.
- Seal boxes that come down the pack line and stage the orders for shipper pick-up.
- Load customer orders into trailers for shipment via UPS, FedEx, and other common carriers. Must be able to effectively communicate with truck drivers.
- Insure all parts and/or sub-assemblies are packed for shipment.
- Make sure all orders shipped in the computer system each day and that they are properly documented and made available for Accounting/ invoicing.
- Maintain a high level of quality (attention to detail) and productivity on a daily basis.
- Report all production/shipping issues, accidents, and safety concerns to immediate supervisor.
- Handle the daily preventive maintenance of equipment as required.
- Follow the customer order ship schedule provided by immediate supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
- NOTE: This position does not require forklift operation.
- Work effectively and safely.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Good communications skills.
- Positively adapt to change.
- Must be able to run the equipment in the department correctly.
- Must have excellent internal customer relations skills and experience.
- Must have ability to utilize programs within the computer system.
- Previous shipping experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Work Environment:
- Regularly works in manufacturing/production environment. Required to enter work areas with moving equipment, machinery and parts. Noise level is normal to high.
