The Lead Body and Liftgate Technician is responsible for generating Service sales for TRAC Service & Body, through effectively completing body/liftgate installs and repairs, while also managing and leading the Technicians to achieve all Department KPIs and Budget Goals. This individual will work closely with the on-site Parts Lead/Manager to deliver excellent customer service to all our Parts/Sales/Service customers. The Lead technician will need experience with managing a team, with a heavy emphasis on training and developing their technicians. The applicant should have a strong background in truck, liftgate, and trailer body repairs, along with strong diesel mechanic skills. The Lead Technician will be expected to be fiscally responsible in meeting yearly revenue and margin budgets. The Lead Technician will be measured using a balanced scorecard and expected to manage the KPI's that tie into the business and results. The Lead Body and Liftgate Technician will report directly to the General Manager. The Technician will maintain a profitable, full schedule by partnering with the Service Advisor and Technicians, who together will offer Body repair, liftgate installs/repairs, mobile transport refrigeration repair, and Heating/AC. The Lead Body and Liftgate Technician will be responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with all customers by promptly communicating service issues and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. At the beginning, this position will also require the Lead Technician to be hands-on as they transition to the Shop Manager role. They will be required to complete the outlined work, repair, bill, and manage the facility until more staff members are hired.
