Hot Section Technologies has supported the aviation industry for 40 years and is growing due to increasing demand for aircraft component repair. We are adding another Aircraft Composite Repair Technician to our FAA/EASA Part 145 repair station in Oxnard, CA.
This is hands-on, in-service aircraft composite repair work. It is not a production layup-only, tooling-only, or assembly-only position. The right candidate should be able to describe real composite repairs they have personally performed, including scarf repair, core repair, wet lay-up/hand lay-up, bonding, cure control, trim/finish, and repair documentation.
Qualified candidates will complete a structured technical screen and an on-site skill demonstration as part of the hiring process.
What You’ll Do
- Repair in-service aircraft components made from fiberglass, carbon fiber, Kevlar/aramid, and other composite systems
- Perform surface preparation, damage removal, scarf preparation, wet lay-up/hand lay-up, and ply orientation work
- Perform core removal/replacement, bonding, room-temperature and oven cures, and cure documentation
- Complete trim and finish work such as routing, drilling, sanding, deburr/fill, and contour restoration
- Complete accurate work order documentation, including material and batch/lot traceability where required
- Work to approved technical data, controlled work instructions, and Quality inspection hold points
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years hands-on composite repair experience in a Part 145, OEM, military, or similarly regulated aviation environment
- Ability to perform or clearly explain scarf repair and core repair work
- Experience with wet lay-up/hand lay-up, bonding, cure control, trim/finish, and ply orientation
- Ability to read and follow approved technical data, manuals, drawings, and repair specifications
- Strong documentation habits and respect for inspection checkpoints and hold points
- Willingness to stop and escalate when instructions are unclear, damage is outside scope, or disposition is required
Preferred
- FAA-recognized composite structures training or certificate
- A&P certificate
- Military aircraft structures/composites background
- Eligibility to obtain an FAA Repairman Certificate for composite structures, as applicable

Additional Requirements
- Must work on-site in Oxnard, CA
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lb and work standing, kneeling, crouching, and overhead
- Must pass pre-employment background screening
- Must participate in pre-employment and random drug screening as required for a safety-sensitive aviation environment
- PPE required; work may involve adhesives, solvents, paints, dust, fumes, tools, machinery, and aircraft components
