Pineland BHDD is seeking compassionate and dependable Individual Support Workers to join our Community Housing Team. In this role, you will provide direct care to adults with intellectual & developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs, helping them live safe, meaningful, and independent lives in our community.
The Individual Support Worker provides direct care and skill-building support in a residential setting. This role focuses on promoting independence, safety, and community integration while supporting each individual’s personal goals and daily living needs.
We are hiring for all shifts, but priority will be given to candidates with flexible schedules. A specific shift is not guaranteed.
What You’ll Do
Direct Care & Daily Living Support
- Assist individuals with personal care, hygiene, and meal preparation
- Support self-administration of medications and document services provided
- Monitor and ensure a safe, clean, and healthy living environment
- Observe and report changes in behavior, health, or overall well-being
Skill Building & Personal Development
- Teach and support independent living skills (home maintenance, money management, interpersonal skills)
- Assist individuals in developing basic life skills
- Promote personal choice, independence, and dignity in all activities
Community Integration & Support
- Transport individuals to appointments, errands, and community activities
- Encourage and support participation in community events and experiences
- Foster meaningful engagement and inclusion in the community
Documentation & Team Collaboration
- Record daily progress notes and service delivery documentation in an electronic medical record
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding individual needs and progress
- Follow all agency policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Preferred Qualifications
- CNA, PCA, or DSP certification
- Experience in direct care, residential support, or human services (1+ year preferred)
