This position includes TIP compensation via a pool system. You can expect to add 50% minimum to your hourly rate.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, ensuring high quality and presentation standards.
- Operate POS systems such to process sales efficiently.
- Handle retail sales transactions with cash handling expertise, including processing cash, credit cards, and other payment methods.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders promptly, and answering questions about menu items.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling stations, beverage prep zones, and seating areas, adhering to food safety standards.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers quickly while maintaining accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Support food safety protocols by following proper food handling procedures and ensuring a hygienic environment at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a barista or in food service is highly preferred; familiarity with café operations is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse customers.
- Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately and giving correct change.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as cleaning and food preparation.
- Knowledge of beverage service techniques and drink presentation standards.
- Commitment to food safety practices and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during peak hours.
