Job description: CDL—A Tractor Trailer Driver
Job Summary:
Our Drivers at Lapham-Hickey Steel are an important point of contact with our customers. Load, secure and deliver
flat-rolled coil steel materials in a safe, efficient, timely and professional manner.
Responsibilities and Duties:

Drive Tractor Trailer to make steel deliveries as dispatched by LH Rome.

Conduct Pre-trip and Post-trip inspections.

Keep track of on-duty hours and driving hours by use of JJ Keller ELD System or manual log book.

Position cargo to meet legal weight limits

Secure cargo by safest way possible in accordance with DOT guidelines.

Keep cargo protected from weather and damage by using tarp and chain protectors.

Keep paperwork organized and accurately turn in payroll.

Take truck to shop for regular maintenance or repairs as needed.

Document and report any incidents or accidents. Take pictures and remove debris if possible.

Wear all PPE as required where loading or unloading.

Be professional when dealing with the public and customers

Other duties as instructed by management
Qualifications and Skills:

Must have a current unrestricted Class A CDL License.

Driving Experience Recommended.

High School Diploma or GED.

Basic Computer Skills

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear.

The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds and to climb onto the bed and into the cab of the truck.
