Position Overview:
The Plant Maintenance Helper will assist the Plant Maintenance Manager and Technician with general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities to include electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, plumbing, and other various plant systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with inspecting/identifying equipment or machines in need of repair
- Assist with troubleshooting issues to determine necessary repairs
- Troubleshoots/repairs small engines and small tools
- Assists with planning repair work using equipment manuals as needed
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician
- Performs routine maintenance on equipment
- Assists with upkeep of Plant
- Various other tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Valid Driver’s License
- 2-3 years of maintenance experience is preferred
Qualifications & Requirements
- Demonstrated experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, including 12V, 110V, and 220V applications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience identifying and resolving equipment, machinery, and system issues.
- Knowledge of proper tool selection, safe tool operation, and maintenance practices.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, concrete trucks, forklifts, water trucks, and boom lifts.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills for documentation, diagnostics, and communication purposes.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and observational skills with the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure environments.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to report to work by 7:00 AM, with flexibility to work extended hours, overtime, and weekends as needed to complete projects.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Capable of bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, climbing, and working in physically demanding environments.
- Comfortable working at heights exceeding 50 feet.
- Ability to work in small, confined spaces when required.
- Capable of standing or sitting for extended periods while maintaining focus and productivity.
- Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions, including exposure to dust, dirt, hazardous materials, and other construction or industrial environments.
- Commitment to following all safety procedures and regulations while performing assigned duties.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
