As part of Right at Home — a global leader in home care since 1995 with over 330 million hours of care delivered worldwide — our local East Bay office proudly serves 20+ cities, including Walnut Creek, Danville, Pleasanton, Livermore, and Tracy. We are a proud recipient of the 2026 “Great Place to Work®” award.
As a specialized high-acuity home care provider, our work has a direct and meaningful impact every single day. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to improve the quality of life for those we serve.
As our Home Care Business Development Manager (Community Partner), you’ll be the face of Right at Home East Bay — opening doors, building trusted relationships, and guiding families toward care solutions. You’ll spend 60%+ of your time in the field, and you'll own your schedule, your territory, and your results.
Key Responsibilities:
Prospect and cold-call new referral sources — walk in, introduce Right at Home, and open doors with hospitals, skilled nursing and sub-acute facilities, rehabs, home health, hospice, assisted living, physicians, discharge planners, case managers, and more.
Prioritize high-yield referral sources (such as hospitals, SNFs, and rehabs) while cultivating community partners across the territory.
Obtain, qualify, and close leads — convert relationships into referrals and referrals into service starts.
Build and maintain a base of primary accounts that reliably refer month after month.
Run events and deliver group presentations and in-services to referral partners and community audiences (e.g., dementia education at senior living communities).
Conduct client consultations and guide families through care options with empathy and clarity.
Solve referral partners' problems, positioning Right at Home as a strategic partner — not just asking for referrals.
Track all activity, referral sources, and performance metrics in our CRM and submit weekly activity and pipeline reports.
Partner with internal teams (scheduling, care coordination, recruiting) to ensure a seamless client experience.
Monitor local market trends and provide market and pricing input to leadership.
2–3+ years of outside sales or business development experience in any industry, with a track record of hitting goals. Healthcare, home care, home health, hospice, or senior-services exposure is a plus, not a requirement.
Comfortable and effective with cold calling and in-person prospecting; you handle rejection well and keep going.
Self-motivated, competitive, and hustler — you treat your territory like your own business and manage your own time and schedule.
Strong communication, presentation, and public-speaking skills; confident in front of both a discharge planner and a room of families.
CRM proficiency and the discipline to track activity and use data to prioritize.
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience and demonstrated results.
Valid California driver's license and reliable, insured personal vehicle (this role is 60%+ in the field).

This role blends heart and hustle. You'll build your own book of business, grow professionally, and improve lives every day. There's a clear path to grow into a senior business development or leadership role as business expands. Join us in improving the quality of life for those we serve — one client, one caregiver, and one community at a time.
