American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and night shift availability.

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital
-
32-bed unit with an average daily census of 21 patients
-
Patient ratio of 1:3-4
-
Unit admits patients from CICU, MSICU, acute care floors, and the ED
-
Patient population ranges from adults to geriatrics
-
Cares for post-op CABG, thoracic surgery, and vascular surgery patients
-
Manages respiratory failure with multiple treatment modalities excluding invasive mechanical ventilation
-
Treats cardiac arrhythmias, DKA, GI bleed, trauma, CVA, seizures, CIWA, metabolic disorders, renal failure, GI disorders, hypertensive emergencies, sepsis, and neuro disorders

Utilizes Epic EMR, Pyxis, SBAR, AirVo, BiPap, and CPAP

Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)

Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified

Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed

No on-call requirements

Active GA or Compact RN license required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required

Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required

Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias required

First-time travelers accepted

Navy blue scrubs required
-
Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract

Holiday coverage required: if one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, both must be worked; if three major holidays fall during the assignment, two must be worked

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate

Previous perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all facilities within this health system for one full year before applying as a traveler

Travelers who cancel or receive a facility DNR must complete one assignment outside this health system before reapplying

Fixed shift schedule with no alternate shift or schedule requests permitted
