Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with all educational laws and regulations.
- Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development, educational technology integration, and evidence-based instructional strategies.
- Deliver specialized instruction across core subjects such as literacy education, math, early childhood education, and social skills development.
- Utilize behavior management techniques and behavioral therapy methods to support positive student behaviors and classroom harmony.
- Collaborate closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support holistic student development.
- Conduct assessments, standardized testing, and progress monitoring to evaluate student growth and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, IEP goals, behavioral reports, and compliance records to ensure transparency and accountability.
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, visual impairments, or hearing impairments.
- Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP processes, and educational compliance standards.
- Expertise in curriculum development tailored for diverse learners and familiarity with instructional design principles.
- Proficiency in learning technology tools, educational software, and assistive devices to enhance learning outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies for students with special needs.
- Experience in early intervention programs or preschool settings is highly desirable.
