We are currently searching for a Purchasing Manager (live plants/trees/specimens) to join our team. In this role, you will be a vital member of our high-performing organization, working collaboratively to provide irrigation expertise and knowledge, and you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining high-end residential irrigation systems for our customers’ luxury properties.
You will be responsible for performing day-to-day purchasing of the highest quality live plants and trees for our prestigious clients' projects throughout Southern California. This is a high-touch role, requiring visits to our various trusted suppliers and nurseries to identify the finest materials.

Experience in plant purchasing, greenhouse growing, nursery production, propagation, or horticulture

Deep horticultural knowledge

Experience negotiating prices, drawing up contracts, and building relationships

Strong knowledge of plant production, irrigation, and environmental controls

Understanding of plant health management

Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills

Ability to work independently and make sound decisions

Willingness to participate in on-site plant tagging and nursery tours and able to respond after‑hours, when required

Research, identify, tag, and schedule delivery for all plant materials needed for landscape installation and landscape maintenance projects throughout Los Angeles and surrounding areas from high quality vendors and nurseries

Assess quality and reliability of suppliers

Track all purchases and shipments

Approve purchase orders, ensure timely payments to vendors

Solicit bids from potential suppliers and forecast needs based upon estimates, bids, and signed proposals

Administer vendor contracts, draft and follow up on renewals

Horticultural knowledge of shrubs and perennials, trees, cactus and succulents and blooming plants

Coordinate material needs and delivery schedules with Project Managers, Account Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen

Will proactively scout plants for insects, disease, and cultural issues at a variety of local nurseries, greenhouses, and suppliers

Ensure and maintain high-quality standards across all projects

Work closely with horticulturists and plant health care professionals to ensure consistency and standardization

Develop pipeline of backup suppliers in case of emergency

Schedule deliveries to optimize production and minimize loss of products
