Our company provides solar farm vegetation management services for the two largest utility companies in Florida.
You will be a member of a multi-man crew that services 8 to 10 solar farms per year. This position will primarily be operating a 72" or 144" zero-turn lawn mower, applying herbicide when needed, maintaining your mower daily to optimize its production, and following all safety protocols.
This is a "Pay for Performance" position, and all pay is commission-based, determined on a pay-per-acre basis. THE MORE YOU MOW, THE MORE YOU MAKE! You will be expected to mow 15-25 acres per day. Working hours will typically be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. with an hour lunch break. We aim to work Mondays through Fridays, but weekend work will be required due to weather delays. Employer match 401(k) is available with immediate vesting.
Candidate must:
-Have experience working in the Florida heat. This is a REQUIREMENT. Temps can reach over 100 degrees.
-Enjoy working outside; is able to stand, walk, and work at a steady pace all day; can lift up to 50 lbs.; and be able to lie on the ground to maintain mowers.
-Have integrity, a "can-do" attitude, and listens well.
-Have experience operating a zero-turn lawn mower and/or learn quickly.
-Have reliable transportation to and from the starting location (current solar farm) each day and be on time every day.
-Preference is highly given to mechanically-inclined applicants who are confident doing simple in-the-field fixes on zero-turn mowers.
NOTES: Most of our solar farms are within a 45-minute drive of Lake City. Our working season is typically February through December.
