Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher's Aide to join our team. The teacher’s aide will assist the classroom teacher in implementing instructional lessons and positive behavior support plans and strategies, provide support to the students to encourage their participation in classroom activities and community experiences and share the responsibility of ensuring the safety of the students at all times. The teacher’s aide will also communicate with the classroom teacher on a daily basis in regards to issues or concerns that may impact the overall classroom program and students.
Core Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Share in the responsibility of the safety of all students. This includes monitoring students in hallways and bathrooms as needed. Supervision is also needed on the playground, cafeteria and during break/play and leisure activities. Assist the classroom teacher and students during community outings and school-wide field trips.
Communicate with the classroom teacher as needed regarding issues and concerns impacting on the overall classroom program. Communicate with parents as requested by the classroom teacher.
Assist the classroom teacher where needed in all aspects of the school day, including instructional support, material preparation, the implementation of behavior plans, data collection, and other areas based on individual classroom need.
Attend/participate in all staff meetings, team meetings and trainings as required; attend school events as needed.
Communicate with the administration regarding issues impacting the school program.
Maintain student confidentiality in compliance with The Family Rights and Privacy Act.
Complete additional duties as assigned and attend all required team, staff and parent meetings.
