As a Street Maintenance Concrete Laborer, you will join a dedicated team serving the City of Salem by directly contributing to the maintenance of the City’s transportation network. Your work ensures that sidewalks, curbs, ADA ramps, and driveway aprons remain safe and accessible for all community members. You will also assist street operation crews during snow, ice, and other emergency events, helping to protect public safety when the community needs it most.

What are the minimum qualifications?-
Must pass the pre-employment background check and fitness assessment.

Must have a valid driver's license and have a driving record that meets the City of Salem's driving standards.

One year general maintenance, repair, or construction experience in street right-of- way, public works facilities, utility systems, and public improvements (preference will be given to experience in specific area of assignment), or any combination of experience and training that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions.

High School graduate or G.E.D. preferred.

The Urban Renewal Agency and the Salem Housing Authority are separate municipal corporations. The Agency contracts with the City for services and the Authority is led by the Housing Administrator within the Urban Development department.
