Duties
- Safely operate a cargo van to deliver Walmart merchandise efficiently across designated routes in Columbia, TN.
- Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary.
- Adhere strictly to traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and company safety policies during all driving activities.
- Verify delivery addresses, scan packages with mobile devices, and ensure accurate documentation of deliveries.
- Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with customers during drop-offs and pickups.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine safety checks before and after shifts.
- Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy bulky or small items to prevent injuries.
Requirements
- Proven experience in delivery driving, warehouse operations, or courier services with a focus on manual handling and moving goods.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with box trucks or commercial trucks is a plus.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, heavy lifting techniques, and safe lifting practices.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and route driving safety standards.
- Comfortable using mobile devices for route navigation and delivery documentation.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude during all interactions.
- Ability to lift heavy packages safely and perform physical tasks associated with load & unload activities.
