Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages such as coffee and tea with precision and care
- Handle retail sales transactions accurately using POS systems like Toast POS, including processing cash, credit card payments, and managing receipts
- Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about food and beverage offerings, and provide friendly, attentive service
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling stations, beverage prep zones, and seating areas to ensure food safety standards are met
- Restock supplies regularly, including baked goods, coffee beans, cups, lids, and other essentials to keep the café fully operational
- Follow food safety protocols during food preparation and beverage service to ensure quality and hygiene standards are upheld
- Support bakery operations by assisting with food preparation tasks such as slicing bread or packaging baked goods as needed
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining high-quality service
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or café environments is highly preferred; barista experience is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast enhances efficiency in transactions
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills to balance beverage preparation, customer service, and cleaning duties effectively
