Key Responsibilities:
- Program Facilitation:
- Plan, organize, and implement activities and programs that are engaging, educational, and age-appropriate.
- Lead activities that promote physical, cognitive, and social development, including games, arts and crafts, academic support, and leadership development.
- Adapt programs to meet the needs and interests of individual members and groups.
- Member Engagement:
- Build positive relationships with members, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Provide guidance, encouragement, and mentorship to help members achieve their personal and academic goals.
- Address member concerns and conflicts in a constructive and timely manner.
- Supervision and Safety:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all members during activities and while on club premises.
- Supervise members to maintain a safe and orderly environment, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the appropriate staff members and follow up as necessary.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with members, parents, and staff to ensure that everyone is informed and engaged.
- Collaborate with other staff members and volunteers to enhance program delivery and address any issues that arise.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay current on best practices and club policies.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate records of member attendance, participation, and progress.
- Assist with the setup and cleanup of program areas and materials.
- Contribute to program evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Community and Family Involvement:
- Engage with parents and guardians to support member involvement and address any questions or concerns.
- Promote club programs and events to the community and encourage participation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Recreation Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with youth in a recreational or educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with youth, families, and staff.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical activities associated with program facilitation and youth supervision.
- Capacity to lift and move materials or equipment weighing up to 20lbs
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Morning/Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
