The Law Offices of Samantha K. Wolfe, LLC is a small law firm dedicated to the practice of estate administration, trusts and estates, elder law, special needs planning, and business succession planning. We are adding a new position to our team. We are excited to welcome a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Assistant to our firm. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to the attorneys by performing a variety of administrative and legal tasks. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a desire to help people. The Legal Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our office and assisting with various legal matters.
Responsibilities
- Drafting, editing, and reviewing estate planning documents, deeds, and financial information as instructed by the supervising attorney.
- Assist in gathering client information related to assets and family information to help create the best estate plan for clients.
- Communicate with clients and be the primary contact between the attorney and the firm's clients.
- Organize and compile documents in preparation for client meetings and manage the flow of the file through the firm's established procedures.
- File deeds and other legal documents with the Recorder of Deeds.
- Answer the phone and greet clients so the client is comfortable at our office.
- Build relationships with professionals and clients through in-person interaction, emails, and phone calls.
- Provide executive administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and organizing files.
- Perform data entry tasks to maintain accurate records in our case management system.
- Carry out various clerical duties, including filing, copying, and scanning documents as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or experience in estate planning is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Dropbox and Practice Panther a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- A proactive attitude with strong attention to detail is crucial for success in this role.
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
