Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Daycare Teacher to nurture and educate young children in a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. As a Daycare Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a positive learning atmosphere, implementing age-appropriate curriculum, and fostering social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Hours would be 730AM-1PM
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management.
- Conduct assessments of children's developmental progress and tailor activities to meet individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and any concerns related to child welfare or development.
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety in compliance with mandated reporting laws and health regulations such as first aid and CPR certification.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum development strategies that incorporate standardized testing results and best practices in preschool teaching.
- Support children’s physical activity through engaging physical education activities that promote motor skills development.
- Uphold policies related to childhood development, classroom management, and daycare experience standards to ensure a high-quality educational setting.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children across early childhood stages, including toddlers and preschoolers.
- Strong knowledge of child development instruction principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Proficiency in curriculum development tailored for early childhood education settings.
- Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention programs, and literacy education methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and team collaboration.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate math concepts and promote overall cognitive growth.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; knowledge of mandated reporting laws is essential.
- Experience teaching physical education activities suitable for young children’s motor skill enhancement.
- Background in childcare or daycare environments; private school experience is advantageous but not required.
