We are seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join a well-established rural healthcare system in Southeast Georgia. This opportunity offers the chance to practice full-scope family medicine in a traditional model where physicians care for their patients in both the clinic and hospital setting. The organization serves as the primary healthcare provider for the surrounding community and provides a supportive, team-oriented environment for providers.
The physician will work primarily in a rural health clinic located next to a 25-bed critical access hospital. The schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Physicians typically round on hospitalized patients in the morning before transitioning to clinic, where they will see an average of approximately 25 patients per day. The position includes both outpatient and inpatient responsibilities and the opportunity to treat patients of all ages.
The hospital includes a Level I nursery with approximately 180 deliveries per year, and while a pediatrician manages most newborns, family medicine physicians assist with nursery coverage as needed. Call responsibilities are shared with other providers and currently rotate 1:4, with plans to move to 1:5 as the provider team grows.
Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Medicine physicians are encouraged to apply. New graduates and visa candidates are welcome.
