Make and receive referrals, utilizing risk screening tools to assess current level of housing risk and crisis.

Provide 1:1 intervention and support proportional to the level of need for households who are at high risk of entering the homeless system.

Utilize a strengths-based approach to identify resources that are already at the household's disposal and introduce additional supports that can further stabilize their housing crisis.

Assess eligibility for flexible funds when available for housing stabilization and facilitate access to funding when appropriate.

Collaboratively problem-solve with other partners, including Housing Resource Specialists and the City of Columbus’ Division of Housing Stability.

Provide housing resource information and navigational support for clients as well as other staff at the agency; regular updating of housing-related information and resources.

Enter data on clients served in the program into Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), a database maintained by CSB, in accordance with data privacy and security standards.

Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth. Participates in required abuse risk management training. Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements. Adheres to job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and/or experience) in a social services field (social worker, psychology, child development, education, or related field), and knowledge of housing and employment resources preferred, but not required.

Valid Ohio State driver’s license and appropriate insurance coverage.

Knowledgeable of tenant rights and responsibilities, housing discrimination, and communicates with landlords and others with client documentation recorded in HMIS.

Prior experience with the Stable Housing Initiative and ERA application process. Knowledge of the Alita system.

Strong communication and organizational skills, particularly listening, mediation, and writing skills.

Detail oriented to complete requirements of files and contract compliance.

Experience with computers and knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software that may be required for business purposes. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

The Housing Solutions Coordinator is responsible for engagement with residents who are experiencing significant housing instability and at-risk of homelessness. This position works outside agencies to rapidly resolve the immediate housing crisis. Examples of this assistance include housing problem solving, linkage to immediate needs, referrals for rental assistance, and assisting the client in identifying longer-term supports and resources. The overall community goal is to reduce evictions and instances of homelessness for everyone receiving prevention assistance and services.
