Overview
Metanoia Therapy & Wellness is a growing private practice in Wakefield, Rhode Island seeking a compassionate, motivated therapist to join our team on a part-time basis.
We are looking for a clinician who values authentic connection, evidence-based care, and creating a comfortable, supportive environment for clients. Our practice works primarily with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship and family concerns, self-esteem challenges, identity development, and other emotional or behavioral concerns.
This position is designed for a clinician looking to gradually build a flexible, part-time private practice caseload. Metanoia will manage incoming referrals and work to build your caseload toward approximately 5–10 clients per week initially, with the opportunity to continue growing if desired. Caseload will build based on referral volume, client-clinician fit, clinician availability, and insurance credentialing and is not guaranteed immediately upon hire.
In-person and telehealth sessions.
This can be a great opportunity for a school social worker, clinician currently working in a hospital or agency, or therapist interested in transitioning into private practice without taking on all of the administrative responsibilities of running a practice independently.
Metanoia handles insurance billing, claims, referrals, marketing, and practice administration so you can focus primarily on providing quality therapy and completing your clinical documentation.
Duties
- Provide individual outpatient psychotherapy to adolescents and/or adults based on your experience and areas of interest

- Utilize evidence-based approaches appropriate to client needs and your clinical training, such as CBT, DBT-informed interventions, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, strengths-based approaches, and trauma-informed care
- Maintain timely and accurate progress notes, treatment plans, and required clinical documentation through SimplePractice
- Assess for safety concerns and provide appropriate crisis intervention, referrals, and follow-up when clinically indicated
- Maintain professional boundaries, client confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance
- Collaborate with families, schools, medical providers, and other professionals when clinically appropriate and authorized
- Manage ongoing scheduling and communication with assigned clients
- Participate in occasional practice meetings or clinical consultation as needed
