Overview
We are seeking a talented, experienced, and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant's standards. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing sushi and other Japanese dishes, ensuring food safety, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Duties
- Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and artistry, adhering to traditional techniques and recipes.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Ensure all food preparation meets safety and hygiene standards, including proper food handling practices.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and organized.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
- Provide exceptional service by engaging with guests when necessary, sharing knowledge about menu items, and accommodating dietary restrictions.
- Continuously develop culinary skills through training and experimentation with new recipes.
Experience
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
- Strong culinary experience with a focus on Japanese cuisine, including fine dining experience preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in seafood preparation techniques, knife skills, and Fish preparation.
- Familiarity with menu planning, catering, and serving practices is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling is essential.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
