Retail, wholesale, and shop support. The person who keeps the store moving.
Location: Leesburg, VA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: Dealership or aftermarket parts experience preferred. Not required if you know cars and can move fast.
Read This If You Actually Like Parts.
Some people are wired for this work. You like knowing that a car is a puzzle and every part has a number. You like the pace on a busy Saturday morning when the shop is stacked, the phone is ringing, and three body shops want quotes yesterday. You like the moment a tech comes to the counter frustrated and walks away with exactly what he needed in under two minutes because you knew where it was.
If that's you, keep reading.
What The Job Actually Is.
You are the person the technicians rely on, the wholesale accounts trust, and the retail customers remember. Every day you are pulling parts for the shop, quoting and billing wholesale orders, helping walk-in customers, ordering stock, processing returns, and staying on top of back-orders before they become problems.
You will use the Hyundai parts catalog, our DMS (REYNOLDS & REYNOLDS), and the phone. A lot. If you can't stay organized and calm when things are busy, this is not the job. If you thrive on it, you'll do very well here.
What We're Looking For.
- Parts knowledge. Dealership experience is ideal. If you're coming from AutoZone, O'Reilly, NAPA, Advance, or a body shop parts desk and you're serious about leveling up, we want to talk to you too.
- Speed and accuracy. A wrong part costs the store money and the tech an hour. You take pride in getting it right the first time.
- Tech-friendly attitude. The techs are your customers. Treat them that way and everything else works. Fight with them and everything falls apart.
- Wholesale hustle. If you've built wholesale relationships before, that's gold. If you haven't, we'll teach you how.
- Computer literacy. You can move through a DMS, look up a VIN, cross-reference a part, and email a quote without a five-minute delay.
- Reliability. Parts departments run on the counter being open when it's supposed to be open. When you're scheduled, you're there.
What You'll Gain.
- A real career path. Parts Counter → Assistant Parts Manager → Parts Manager → Fixed Ops Director. With 26 dealerships in the Safford Auto Group, people who want to move up actually can.
- Steady, predictable work. No nights until close, no Sundays. This is not the sales floor. If you want a real career in the car business without the sales grind, parts is one of the best-kept secrets in this industry.
- A brand-new facility. We're moving into a state-of-the-art building next month. New parts department, new workflow, new everything. You'd be helping set up how it runs.
- Bonus money that reflects what you actually produce. Wholesale gross, retail gross, and accessory sales all count.
