Job Summary
The EFT Specialist is responsible for the processing, monitoring, and control of electronic funds transfer (EFT) activities, including ACH (Automated Clearing House), Real Time Payments (RTP), FedNow, Third-Party Payment Processor (TPPP) transactions, and wire processing for TAB Bank. This role supports daily operations, risk management, customer onboarding, and compliance efforts. The EFT Specialist is cross trained across EFT functions, assists in employee and customer training, and ensures adherence to all applicable FED, FDIC, NACHA, and TAB Bank policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to meet daily EFT operational objectives.
- Process, monitor, verify, and balance ACH and Third-Party Payment Processor (TPPP) transactions, including file uploads, exceptions, returns, and Notifications of Change (NOCs).
- Troubleshoot operational issues, perform research, data analysis, and account reconciliations, escalating issues as needed.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external inquiries related to ACH, EFT, and wire processing.
- Underwrite ACH originators, conduct periodic audits, and monitor customer activity to ensure compliance with established risk controls.
- Administer ACH and wire services, including limit adjustments, user access management, and enforcement of customer risk parameters.
- Complete end-of-day processing and support overall operational accuracy and efficiency.
- Support compliance efforts, including coordination of ACH audits, maintenance of documentation, and adherence to all regulatory and internal policy requirements.
- Facilitate onboarding, training, and ongoing communication for customers and employees, including NACHA rules education and periodic updates.
- Participate in risk monitoring activities and reporting, including involvement in committee reviews and preparation of related materials.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
- Previous banking or accounting operations experience, including ACH and/or wire processing, exception processing, balance control, end-of-day processing, or account maintenance preferred.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
- Some college coursework in business, finance, or accounting preferred.
- NACHA AAP or APRP certification preferred; required within one calendar year of hire.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet daily and monthly deadlines while supporting project-based initiatives.
