Position Overview
We are seeking a Lead Building Structures Engineer to drive and expand our building structural practice. This leadership role involves strategic planning, technical oversight, staff mentoring, and collaboration with multiple teams. You will manage complex projects, support business development, and ensure high-quality design and delivery of building structures, including transportation-related facilities for public and private clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, analysis, design, and detailing of building structures.
- Provide technical oversight, review, and quality control for structural projects.
- Manage client relationships, contracts, and strategic partnerships with architects and consultants.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering professional development.
- Contribute to business development, including proposal preparation and strategic pursuit decisions.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and milestones.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, and best practices.
- Participate in personnel and team development decisions.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of professional experience in architectural or structural building design.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience with public sector and transportation-related structures.
- Licensed PE or RA.
- Proficiency with Revit, 3D modeling software, and general structural analysis tools.
- Strong technical knowledge of structural systems for building construction.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
