Working hand-in-hand with our Lead Teachers in Snohomish County, you will help implement creative, individualized learning experiences for our students. We are seeking a dedicated Head Start Assistant Teacher to build trusting, respectful relationships with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
Head Start Assistant Teacher Benefits:
- Annual salary ranging from $30,903 to $40,213.50 (paid semi-monthly September–May).

Head Start Assistant Teacher Qualifications & Skills:
- Enrolled in, or commitment to enroll in during the first year of employment, an ECE program or Childhood Development Associate (CDA) credentialing program.
- One year of work experience in a preschool classroom.
- Ability to physically engage in classroom activities, including sitting on the floor, lifting up to 50 lbs on an emergency basis, and moving child-sized furniture.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills (multilingual candidates strongly encouraged).
- Successful completion of a DCYF Portable Background Check.
Head Start Assistant Teacher Responsibilities & Duties:
- Actively teach preschool children and prepare curriculum materials under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.
- Step up to manage classroom operations during the Lead Teacher’s daily office hours or absences.
- Support social-emotional growth using the Pyramid Model Framework and promote program collaboration across classrooms.
- Record anecdotal observations, conduct screenings, maintain records, and achieve Inter Rater Reliability using Teaching Strategies Gold within year one.
- Ensure total health, safety, and supervision of children, including handling snack/meal services and daily classroom sanitation.
Pay: $3,827.00 per month
