About us
PreCom competes in a specialty electrical contracting market commonly referred to as the Structured Cabling Solutions industry. The company installs physical copper and fiber-optic cable and other electronic components in newly built commercial structures and retrofit projects to support companies’ IT networks, phone systems, security and premises access control systems, public address and paging systems, and low-voltage lighting systems.
Job description --- Entry-Level and Experienced Structured Cabling Technicians
Seeking full time entry-level and experienced communications cabling technicians that are quick learners, take direction easily, are proud to do quality work, and have an inclination toward technical tasks. These individuals will be responsible for learning what is required to perform the proper installation, termination, testing, and labeling of structured communications cabling projects. Must work well as part of a team, and must interact well with customers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Be an exceptional team player with good communication skills
· Produce quality work that meets the company’s standards
· Demonstrate the ability to learn and master the proper installation, termination, and testing of copper and fiber optic cable installs
· Demonstrate the ability to learn and master the proper use of copper and fiber optic testing equipment
· Follow instructions from Lead Technicians
· Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
· Maintain the company’s professional reputation with customers, team members, and suppliers
· Be an organized, punctual, and motivated self-starter
· Follow all safety protocols and standards
· Learn the proper use of all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks
· Be able to work comfortably on ladders, on lifts, and in confined spaces
· Be able to lift at least 50 lbs comfortably and perform twisting and turning movements
· Be willing to travel periodically to out-of-town projects
· Maintain a positive attitude through difficult situations
· Pass pre-employment and periodic random drug screening, as well as a criminal background check
· Possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license
