Activity-Based Trainer (ABT) Job Description
Overview
The Activity-Based Trainer serves as a lead for client sessions and an effective team member who contributes to the development and achievement of clients/athletes and organizational goals and objectives. ABT is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering engaging, activity-based training programs that align with organizational goals and enhance employee performance.
JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Activity-Based Trainer I provides a direct supportive role in the delivery of services under Lead Staff and Director. The Activity-Based Trainer must be able to:
- Prepare the client for training, as directed by Lead Staff.
- Provide guided exercise and locomotor training under the direction of Lead Staff.
- Maintain the client’s computerized and paper files/records.
- Assist with data entry.
- Perform data entry and analysis as directed by the Director.
- Assist with providing demonstration modules and instruction activities for students, staff, and guests.
- Prepare and clean the training areas, treatment rooms, and break areas after use and at end of day.
Training Program Design and Development
- Design, develop, and update engaging and interactive training activities.
- Utilize recovery principles to create effective training programs
- Pilot new training programs and revise content based on feedback and performance data.
Training Delivery and Facilitation
- Facilitate high-impact training sessions using a variety of interactive methods.
- Ensure all ABTs deliver training consistently, maintaining high quality and engagement
- Adapt training delivery style and content to meet the diverse needs of different athletes/clients.
QualificationsExperience
- Some experience in functional fitness, training, and facilitation, with a strong focus on activity-based training.
Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional Facilitation Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage dynamic activities and ensure high energy and participation.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and demonstration skills. Ability to communicate proper mechanics effectively with all athletic skill levels.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to diagnose training needs and propose effective solutions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and present for extended periods.
- Ability to move and set up training materials and equipment up to, but not limited to, 100 lbs.
- Ability to physically transfer athletes/clients of all sizes
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
